About CCA

Our Beginning

Calvary Christian Academy began as a mere vision placed in the heart and mind of Bishop L.W. Francisco III, Pastor of the Calvary Community Church in Hampton, Virginia. He and his wife Natalie, co-founder of Calvary Christian Academy, had a desire to involve the Calvary Community Church in holistic ministry through the development of the family structure and education. While the youth of urban communities were constantly being plagued by illiteracy and immoratilty, they sensed a mandate to make a positive impact by counteracting the many negative influences that existed. Hence the mandate was to provide a qualitative educational program that would offer academic excellence along with Christian principles. After the first year of operation, the day care at Calvary Community Church evolved into a Christian school. The ABEKA curriculum was chosen to foster academic as well as spiritual growth.
